who we are
In the 1980's our founder began his journey by establishing his first retail and wholesale business in the highlands region and within a short time, it grew into a chain with the help of his siblings. Noticing how difficult it was to source high quality products at reasonable prices (without the internet and PC's) he saw an opportunity to make a difference.
Establishing a head office in Lae, Kendo Ltd. started with one product "Ezy Cook Rice". The company quickly established strong relationships with many store owners by providing our own sales and merchandiser staff (a novel concept at the time) to push sales, and offering a no questions asked take back guarantee exchanging any expired or damaged goods with new products.
From Lae, Kendo Ltd. expanded its presence outward and across Papua New Guinea growing our product line to include other food, beverage and household brands. With each new location, the founder sought to maintain the same level of quality and customer service that their original location had become known for.
Today, Kendo Ltd. continues to operate in multiple locations across the country, and become one of the largest and most successful retail distribution companies in the industry. While the founders' passion for catering to store owners remain at the heart of our company, he's never lost sight of our commitment to customer service.
